No one wants to go it alone when they’re picking out a new car in San Marcos. Is the BMW X3 a good car? Is the BMW X3 reliable? How much is a BMW X3? All of these questions and more will be answered by the reviews, so let BMW of Escondido tell you all about what this new BMW has to offer you.

BMW X3: Price and Updated Features

One of the first things people in San Diego ask about when considering a new luxury SUV is the sticker price. Thankfully, the 2022 BMW X3 will start you out at a competitive $44,695 MSRP, ideal for many drivers who want a full-featured luxury vehicle that gives them all the goods. The 2022 BMW X3 is a mid-cycle update to the stylings of the X3 without being a full refresh, and the critics note it accordingly:

Edmunds: “The X3 is set to get a midcycle refresh for the 2022 model year. So it won’t be quite a redesign but rather a number of cosmetic changes and added options. The changes might not seem too obvious in the front of the vehicle, but the headlights on the 2022 X3 have been slimmed down a half-inch or so, the grille is larger and there’s a revised front bumper. The rear headlights are all-new and have a more three-dimensional look, with clear turn signal indicators.”

Car and Driver: “The X3 receives a refresh to its styling for 2022, which includes a revised grille, new headlamps and taillamps, updated front and rear bumpers, new wheel designs, and tweaked exhaust tips. The base X3 is now available with an M Sport appearance package which dresses it up to look similar to the racier M40i model. Speaking of the M40i, it gains a 48-volt hybrid system for 2022, but combined horsepower remains the same 382-hp as the 2021 model.”

BMW X3: Performance

For years, discerning SUV drivers in Poway have turned to the BMW X3 for maximum performance, and it’s no exception for model year 2022. This is a truly powerful machine that’s ready for everything you’ve got, and the reviewers think so too:

MotorTrend: “The X3 was a 2020 SUV of the Year contender and knows how to party. It’s fast, predictable, and even capable of drifting. The X3 doesn’t have a dedicated off-road mode, but it still showed plenty of ability when we took it away from pavement. Hop in the X3 M for the full high-performance experience, complete with a raucous soundtrack of gurgles coming out of the exhaust off throttle.”

CarBuzz: “While the sDrive30i and xDrive30i models remain largely unchanged under the hood, both boasting 2.0-liter turbo four-pots with 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, the X3 M40i receives a significant mechanical upgrade in the form of mild hybrid assistance. The 3.0-liter B58 six-cylinder is turbocharged and augmented by a 48-volt electrical system to improve efficiency upon startup and when cruising, or alternatively, support ancillary systems in the vehicle. The electric augmentation adds 11 hp of assistance low down in the rev range to the M40i’s existing 382 hp and 369 lb-ft outputs.”

BMW X3: Interior

You want power out of a luxury SUV, yes, but you also want a prime interior that’s built for driver and passenger comfort. Thankfully, BMW has been known the world over for providing this in every car they sell, and for 2022, the critics hail the interior stylings of this vehicle:

MotorTrend: “Features like front power sport seats and dual-zone climate control are newly standard for 2022, and Android Auto compatibility joins Apple CarPlay as a standard infotainment feature. The X3 in M40i trim picks up an adaptive M suspension, dual 12.3-inch digital displays (one for the instrument cluster and one for infotainment), keyless entry, and an increased top-speed limiter.”

Car and Driver: “The X3’s stylish interior comes well equipped before you check a single option box; 10-way power-adjustable front seats, which include adjustable side bolsters, make it easy to find a comfortable position. Rear-seat occupants are treated to reclining seatbacks, and the cushioning on all seats is plush enough for long journeys. The rest of the X3’s cabin is handsome and put together competently, with well-chosen materials and tight panel gaps.”
