How to Track Your Custom BMW Order

November 3rd, 2021 by

If you are one of the dozens of people a year who order a custom BMW from us, then you are probably wondering what the production process is from order creation and vehicle production status to vehicle delivery at the destination port on the West Coast (after processing through customs) and then your garage. We want to help make the process as simple and seamless as possible, so you can clean out your garage in anticipation of the big day. Below you will see a gallery of images as well as a laid-out process that will show you how to login to the BMW website, how to track the order process, shipping schedules, plus a status update and the timeline of your order.

We went through this custom process as well (first with a BMW Genius, and then with a Sales Manager). As a dealership, it’s important to put yourself through the paces that you want your clients to go through, so you can rest assured that they’re getting the right BMW experience from start to finish. Setting aside port schedules, marine traffic, and delays at port, here is what can you expect when you custom order and receive delivery of a BMW from BMW of Escondido.

  1. We selected a car from our inventory of new BMWs for sale in the Escondido, CA-area.
  2. For the video, it was a new BMW M240i xDrive Compact Performance Coupe with a custom paint color.
  3. For the images in this post, the BMW Genius chose a new BMW M5 (we have since received delivery).
  4. We customized every aspect of the design process, including the paint.

If you have any questions regarding a custom production order you placed with us, please call your BMW Client Advisor. Alternatively, you can call the BMW Genius Hotline at 1.844.4GENIUS (443-6487) for tracking assistance. In general, expect 4-5 weeks for BMW’s built in the USA (most X models) and 10 weeks for BMW’s built out of the USA to be delivered here on the West Coast. This timeline is from start of production, not from time of order placement. Special order requests may extend the production and shipping timeline (such as a BMW Individual item).
