The BMW X3 is the right car for your growing family.

If you are looking for a luxury SUV that fits the growing needs of your young family, then the new BMW X3 is the right choice for you. With substantially more cargo space than the X1 and X2, the increased cabin space of the X3 comfortably fits a family of 4 with car seats and a family of five without them. Throw in strollers, beach chairs, a rinse kit, and a cooler in the back, strap your boards to the roof rack, and you and your family are on your way to the perfect beach morning in Cardiff by the Sea.

The BMW X3 is well equipped for your family adventures.

The tow hitch available from the factory is capable of towing 4400 lbs, just the right amount for a larger tent trailer, ocean fishing boat, or a decked out wakeboarding boat. The factory-installed roof racks are at just the right height for getting your bikes, surfboards, snowboards, and camping gear stored away, while the interior space is roomy and every button affirms your next move.

The standard touchscreen navigation is made from a single piece of glass, and the backup camera is crystal clear. Apple CarPlay ensures you won’t miss a call or email while you’re shuttling to your next appointment. Summer days are no match for the cold AC and optional ventilated seats, or you can warm up in the winter with heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

The X3 leaves the competition at home in their driveway.

Comparatively the Audi Q5 feels a bit small inside and doesn’t feel as sturdy. We’ve written about this before when we compared the X5 to the Q5, but the same can be said for the X3: it’s roomier (almost four more cubic feet of cargo space), stronger, and is a much more comfortable ride. At highway speeds, you can tell a noticeable difference between the two, as the wind whistles in the windows and the noise is considerably louder in the Audi. For us, we just want a solid and silent ride.

The Mercedes GLC feels close to the BMW, but the interior feels like a nursing home. It’s one of the reasons that Car and Driver stated, “ If we were writing the check, it’s the BMW X3 that we’d rather take home. While the Mercedes-Benz GLC300 is refined and luxurious, the X3 is a near match for the GLC in those measures, and the BMW adds a superior driving experience, a better powertrain, and a more intuitive infotainment system.”

We love the X3, because it’s the one we drive.

The X3 is not just another BMW for us; it’s the lifestyle decision our families choose over and over again when they test drive at our dealership. It’s the SUV we get calls and internet chats about the most. It’s safe, secure, and the best choice for their growing family, and it’s the right car for you today as you look for your next BMW.
