Premium Responsibility and the New BMW 4 Series

October 3rd, 2020 by

“I firmly believe the fight against climate change and how we use resources will decide the future of our society – and of the BMW Group. As a premium car company, it is our ambition to lead the way in sustainability. That is why we are taking responsibility here and now and making these issues central to our future strategic direction. This new strategic direction will be anchored in all divisions – from administration and purchasing to development and production, all the way to sales. We are taking sustainability to the next level.” Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Management Board of BMW.

Leading the way forward is nothing new with BMW. We discussed this recently when we posted our most recent article, “Electric is Not the Future; Responsibility Is”. BMW will have twenty-five electrified vehicles by 2025, including 12 all-electric cars. In addition to the BMW lineup, MINI currently has the fast-selling and best value-based electric car on the market in the MINI SE, as well as the PHEV leader with the new 2021 MINI Countryman. BMW Group has cemented itself as the responsible luxury car maker now, and into the future.

The New BMW 4 Series Steps onto the Scene

Coming in three distinct models, core, BMW M, and the fresh Convertible (available Spring 2021), the new 4 Series is not just a detour in looks and styling, it’s a commitment to responsibility and a new way forward.

“The range now peaks with an extremely sporty BMW M440i xDrive Convertible flagship model (fuel consumption combined: 38.2 – 40.9 mpg; powered by a 275 kW/374 hp six-cylinder in-line gas engine. The launch line-up also comprises two four-cylinder gas units and a four-cylinder diesel, with two straight-six diesel engines set to follow later in 2021.” – BMW Press Group

Not only is the new 4 Series socially and environmentally responsible, it’s economically feasible in a package that roars with power and speed. Yes, it’s got that new grille that everyone is talking about, but we think that makes this car stand out even more. A premium luxury sports coupe for under $60,000 with unrivaled gas mileage and commuting capability is a first for the market, one that we will champion for years to come.
