Three Ways to Have a Real December to Remember
I think by now we’ve all seen the Lexus “December to Remember” Christmas and Holiday Season sales campaign, and now that it’s in its 20th anniversary, we are sure to see it again. Over the years, other makers have even taken part in the spirit of the campaign, and at BMW, we are no exception. In fact, you’ve probably seen the BMW USA Road Home sales event that pairs with the Drive to End Hunger annual campaign. Yes, we are as guilty as Lexus, and also yes, we are trying to do some good. So… why are we discuss the “December to Remember” sales campaign by Lexus? Is this a post about iconic holiday ads? Â Well, we want to make sure things are communicated clear this Christmas, so we can all avoid the SNL skit playing out in our personal lives (scroll to the bottom of this article for the video).
We want you to have the best dealership experience while shopping our lineup of luxury vehicles. We want you to have treasured holiday memories that last a lifetime, and we personally want to have a future for luxury customers. For us, that means helping you and your loves ones find the right car, according to your lifestyle. So yeah, let’s pick on the big red bow a little, but let’s also provide a new way forward for amazing experiences and sales leadership.
Three Ways to Have a Real December to Remember
- Talk to your loved ones before making an expensive purchase. Money is the root of most of the conflict in our lives, so before you go out and drop $50,000 on one of our luxury sedans, consider talking to your spouse before you end up sleeping on the couch. Yes, we know you want that perfect gift-giving moment, but they want to be on the same page with you more than a fancy car.
- Understand that this is year-end sales messaging and proven advertising campaigns. It’s easy to get caught up in the mix of it all during the holiday season, so understand that the holiday landscape is set to sell you something. From Lexus to BMW, we are all buying into the holiday rush and want you to buy a luxury automotive. Is that bad? No. But is it good? Not always. That’s why we want you to know that our Client Advisors will work with you to find you the right car, from that perfect luxury hybrid to the new BMW iX or BMW i4 you’ve been hearing so much about (Did you know that BMW is not only the hybrid leader, but the overall hybrid and electric leader for all luxury makers? All our vehicles will have a hybrid or electric option by 2025). For BMW of Escondido, it’s not about sales transactions; it’s about life-long customers that are committed to our family owned and operated dealership, just like we are committed to them.
- We have a new way forward in the automotive space with our custom order process. With global shipping delayed and production times slowed, there is a new way forward. Our custom order process allows you to find the car or SAV you want from our entire lineup of vehicles, customize it to your desires, and enjoy seeing the build process from start to finish. While we have new and used inventory at our dealership, we also want to make sure you know we have a way for you to build the luxury automotive you want, the way you want it, and have it delivered straight to your door on your terms. It’s not just perfect business sense for us as cultural trends move toward the digital space; it’s the way you are already buying everything, so this just makes sense for everyone involved.
Maybe this is the right way to get into the holiday spirit and make special memories with your family. To be on the same page with your family, to not be motivated by advertisement and marketing campaigns but by love, and to know that you can get the current model of your dreams the way you want it, not the way we used to want it. Your happiness is on our holiday wish list (no cheese needed), because it’s not a holiday tradition for us to make you happy; it’s our every single day. And if we can do this year after year, then you’re not only have an exhilarating performance in your car, but an exhilarating performance with your client advisor and BMW of Escondido.
A dad’s (Beck Bennett) Christmas surprise to his family (Timothée Chalamet, Heidi Gardner) isn’t received as he expected. See how this pretend luxury lifestyle in this annual spot comes back to bite dad and how retail sales campaigns aren’t always the best way to sell performance models. We’re changing our methods (and not just selling you the last of our model year vehicles), so you can enjoy exceptional service from start to finish, at BMW of Escondido.Â
